Launched as our second destination in 1995, Myanmar
has long held a special place in the EXO story. Our roots
here run deep and so does our affection for the country
and for the many travellers we have had the privilege of
introducing to its rivers, temples and towns over nearly
three decades. Sadly, since the 2021 coup, conditions
have remained unstable and the future of tourism is
uncertain.
Until we are confident that travel can be enjoyed safely
and responsibly by travellers, guides and staff alike, we
have taken the difficult but necessary decision to
suspend all in country operations. Our Myanmar team,
many of whom have been with EXO for decades, now
share their expertise across other destinations in our
portfolio, helping to shape the same kind of timeless,
thoughtful journeys elsewhere in the region.
